Fifth Gradekswaykusincarnate-word.orgWelcome to IW! My name is Kirsten Swaykus, and I am thrilled to be back teaching fifth grade at Incarnate Word. With several years of experience, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from University of Missouri - Columbia (Go Tigers!!) and certified to teach grades 1-6. I am currently in a two year program to better myself as a reading educator and reach students of all abilities. As a teacher, it is my intent to not only help my students achieve their academic goals, but also help them grow spiritually, socially, and emotionally. I believe that, “Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be” (Rita Pierson). With your support, I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for our students! When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, TJ, and two sons Jackson (3.5) and Oliver (2). My family loves to explore the outdoors, read, and renovate our home. We are parishioners at Incarnate Word Parish, so if you see us around please say hi!
