Hi! I’m Christy DeCari and I’m the Technology Coordinator, Digital Skills teacher, and I facilitate the Makerspace. This is my 18th year in education and my 5th year at Incarnate Word. This parish and school hold such a special place in my heart because not only am I a parishioner here, but I also attended Incarnate Word from Kindergarten through 8th grade. It was the teachers that I had at IW that influenced me to want to go into education and be a teacher! I received my Master's degree from Lindenwood University in Education and my Bachelor's degree in Education from Southeast Missouri State University. I am also a Google Certified Level 1 & 2 Educator. My goal as an educator is to provide my students engaging and meaningful lessons that will help them achieve the skills they need to be empowered and innovative learners; while also leading by example with modeling the importance of kindness, compassion, and respect to one another. I just love being a Special’s teacher and having the opportunity to teach and grow with the amazing students at Incarnate Word year after year. Some of my favorite things to do outside of school are spending time with family and friends, doing anything outdoors, and different types of crafts. It is an honor to be a part of this wonderful and caring community!
